Welcome! Please read the information below before registering. Do not join the board unless you agree to these rules.
The board rules have sadly grown over the past decade. This is because we've had occasional problems with most of the issues listed below. Violation of board rules can result in banning or in deletion of post content. Fortunately, banning and post deletion are both extremely rare, but sometimes things get to that point.
Post (aka Message) Content:
1) Information, opinions, and other content posted on this board are solely those of the member posting such content and are in no way validated or endorsed by the board owner. You are fully and solely responsible for what you write!
2) Posts should not contain commercial ads, spam, defamation, ugliness towards others, profanity, or other offensive wording. If you find a post that you believe has any of these problems, use the "Report" button at the top right of the post to notify the board owner.
3) Do not impersonate other individuals or falsely represent yourself in your messages.
4) Respect the privacy of yourself and others in your posts. Posts should not contain mailing addresses and telephone numbers.
5) Do not post about professional events (conventions, dinners, etc) involving Ben and/or Roger. Unfortunately, such posts have caused far too many problems in the past.
6) Do not post photographs of other fans unless you have their permission.
7) Many inaccurate statements are made on the internet. You can not necessarily assume that the content of a post is accurate. The board owner can not vouch for the accuracy of all posts.
Internet Security:
8) Be careful in your interactions with people that you meet on this board and on the internet in general. You are responsible for your own security! Be cautious about giving out personal information (especially contact information) and about meeting other board members in person.
9) Board membership is open to all and the board owner can not guarantee that members are who they say they are or that they are providing accurate information. Be watchful, responsible, and secure!
10) If you receive unwanted or inappropriate U2Us (aka private messages) from other board members, let the board owner know. Also, if you do not wish to receive U2Us from a specific member, you can add their username to the “Ignore List” in your U2U panel.
11) To become a member, you must give an e-mail address. However, you are encouraged to have your membership profile set to not show your e-mail address publicly. The board owner will keep your e-mail address private and will not give it to anyone.
Membership and Username Issues:
12) Fans generally consider the characters of AS&J to belong to all of us. Do not use a character name as your username. It is also best not to use the name of an AS&J actor.
13) Usernames can contain only letters or numbers. Spaces and symbols can no longer be used in usernames because they mess up the board's code
14) If you have previously been banned from this board, do not join with a new username.
15) If your membership has been de-activated, please contact the board owner by e-mail to have it re-activated.
16) Do not register under multiple usernames or use multiple usernames for malicious purposes.
17) If you have not posted a message within 100 days of registering, your membership is deleted. This is done to minimize the database size, which makes the board run faster. If your membership is deleted for inactivity, you may reregister at any time.
18) People who are representing a business or an AS&J actor in an official capacity may join the board but their affiliation must be clearly stated in the signature that they use on the board.
19) If you have an AS&J-related product to promote, you can provide brief info and a weblink (or e-mail address) where more information can be obtained. However, the bulk of the marketing or business activities should be done elsewhere. The board’s U2U system should not be used for commercial spam.
Tips for Using the Board:
20) There are many advanced features for this board, which you can use or ignore. The FAQ page is helpful with these features.
21) The login process leaves a cookie that allows your username and password to be remembered on that computer. As long as you don't hit the logout button or delete your cookies, you often don't need to keep logging if you use the same computer to access the board.
22) If what you think is your password does not work, please use the Lost Password Page. The board will send a temporary password to the e-mail address that you registered with.
23) At the themes line on the registration page, set the theme to ASJ if you want the default font size. For a larger font size (usually for 19 or 21-in monitors), use ASJ_Biggerfont. For a smaller font size (usually for 14- or 15-in monitors), use ASJ_Smallerfont. If the text is still larger than you'd like, try ASJ_Smallestfont.
24) Individual horse avatars can be chosen from the Avatar Gallery when a member has 7 posts. Prior to 7 posts, everybody gets a rocking horse avatar.
25) Threads/Posts remain on the board indefinitely. However, if the topic of a thread/post becomes outdated and it doesn't relate directly to AS&J or its actors, the thread/post may be deleted after a few months to minimize the board's database. Game threads are periodically deleted.
