But they aren't on LSD and they don't go to beer parties and if and when they do get married (whether or not to each is a speculative idea at best), they each want their marital union to endure, to go beyond the general movieland rule of thumb.
"LSD is something I have no interest in," Peter said. "I know some kids who take it but they're no longer my friends. It's dangerous, idiotic and not for me."
And Sally agrees wholeheartedly. Her father, Jock Mahoney, raised her well. And she's not going to disappoint him.
